CRITERIA FOR ENTRIES TO BE JUDGED
1. Must be a member
2. Print version, no smaller than 8 X 10 inches.
3. Must be matted, no larger than 11x14
4. Unless otherwise noted, picture must be taken in the last year.
5. Limit of entries: one per photographer.
6. Must be of “Monthly Photo Topic” subject matter.
7. A 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner will be selected each month.
Winner's Choice determined by top three winners.
8. Members must be present to enter their photos in the monthly competition.
At this time a member can contact a board member to enter their photo
in the competition due to the Covid virus if they don't want to attend a meeting.
9.Must be at least 16 years old to be a member and vote in competition.
10. Photos can only be used for one competition (same photo cannot be used for
“Rule of Thirds” one month and then the same photo used for “Wildlife” the next month).
We have discussed post processing in previous years. We try to obtain the photos
that we want without using AI, adding or subtracting objects, changing sky colors or
major changes. We do allow for lightening or darkening areas and minimal removal of
objects. This purpose is to learn all the functions of our camera and utitlize our
skills with composition, color, subject matter and the use of light. As the Club discussed
at the February meeting, focus stacking and stacking Astro photos is acceptable in the
post processing because it appears to be one shot. Our goal is to improve with
different techniques and to learn to raise the level of our photography.
